Congressman Paul D. Tonko was the keynote speaker at the 6th Biennial Macedonia Baptist Church Scholarship Fundraising Gala held Saturday, April 20, 2013.  About 250 Macedonia members, friends, supporters, educators and advocates for youth gathered for a program that highlighted Macedonia's youth with musical renditions by Arielle King, Naila Brown and Amber McKay.   In addition, Daniel Cobbins shared reflections as a scholarship recipient.  The Mistress of Ceremony for the evening was Dr. Jennifer G. Sneed.  If you missed this gala, you won't want to miss the next one.  Mark your calendars now for 2015!

Macedonia was well represented in the choir of the 2nd Annual Gospel Jubilee held at Proctor's Theater on Friday, April 19, 2013.   As part of the program, the late Annette DelaVallade, a former Macedonia Gospel Choir member, was honored and our own pastor, Rev. Leonard Comithier, provided reflections of her work in the community and presented an award in her memory.  In the photograph below, Pastor Comithier is joined by (left to right) Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy, Rev. Elgin Taylor (who directed the Gospel Jubilee Choir), and Congressman Paul D. Tonko.
