About the Role
- Lead all the staff and entities of the Worship and Arts Ministry department including musicians, choirs, and other ministries
- Prepare musical selections for respective choirs for all church related services and activities and conduct weekly and regularly
scheduled choir and musician rehearsals
- Communicate weekly with the sound and media teams to coordinate needs for worship services and celebration of life services
- Be available for all activities (on and off-site) associated with the Music Ministry
- Provide a culturally relevant variety of music ranging from traditional to contemporary
- Work in the spirit of cooperation with the Senior Pastor, ministry leaders, ministry volunteers and congregation at large
- Schedule and conduct regular ministry meetings with the music and arts ministry
- Other duties as assigned by the Pastor
Requirements
Has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and displays Servant Leadership
Exhibits a heart for ministries of all ages
Ability to play the organ and/or piano
Ability to teach, sing, and direct music
Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills
Able to work independently, at times, with minimal direction

Macedonia Baptist Church in Albany, NY is a growing multi-generational church committed to sharing the love of God through engaging, authentic, and spirit-filled worship which includes both traditional and contemporary music. The selected individual will be responsible for leading all components of music and worship arts including all choirs, praise teams, and liturgical dance ministries of the church under the supervision of the Pastor. We are looking for a dynamic leader who has the ability to teach and lead the band and develop vocalists while promoting a Christ-centered atmosphere of Worship.
