Audiovisual Ministry

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  Mark 16:15  - KJV

The mission of the Macedonia Audiovisual Ministry is aligned with the church's mission by using our skills, talents, and expertise in His service. The Audiovisual Ministry will: (1) ensure that God's Word and our praise are seen and heard clearly, without distraction or interference within our church and throughout the world as it is broadcasted or distributed on media with the highest video and audio quality available; and (2) provide audiovisual support to all programs/services (worship, weddings, funerals, etc.) and special events such as workshops, training programs, etc. Hence, men and women, boys and girls, may find God and be found of God.

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭18‬-‭20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The Christian Education Ministry (CEM) is given top priority at Macedonia Baptist Church to effectively carry out the mandate of God – “to go” and “make.”  We are spiritually converted so that we can teach spiritual gifts, transform the lives of believers, and continue making disciples for Christ. As we become more committed to and knowledgeable of Jesus Christ, we continue to work and transform lives from brokenness to wholeness in Him. By increasing our biblical understanding of the power and working of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we must continue to equip and prepare ourselves for the spiritual warfare that the Apostle Paul promises will ensue. We must suit ourselves with the Whole Armor of God as noted in Ephesians 6:10-20. These verses instruct us to:

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all of this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given to me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I declare it fearlessly, as I should.”

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me ~ Matthew 25:35-36

Community engagement provides assistance to individuals in the community and organizations that serve the community. The role of the Community Engagement Ministry (CEM) is to carry out God’s work by helping God’s people.

Gifts & Talents

"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace."

(1 Peter 4:10)

"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

(Ephesians 2:10)

The responsibility of this Ministry is to help the members of Macedonia discover and embrace their gifts and talents, which are uniquely designed to fulfill God's divine purpose. We encourage using such gifts in the redemptive work of the Macedonia Baptist Church. This Ministry is the primary resource for linking the membership to the various ministries that require their service. It identifies individuals willing to fulfill the ministry assignments and prepares them by providing training and other guidance necessary to perform tasks effectively. The Utilization of Gifts and Talents Ministry maintains close alignment to Church membership and leadership so it can engage members and friends of the church in worshipping as well as working and seeks to fulfill the strategic objectives of the church in providing the laborers to plan God's work and work God's plan.

Grief & Bereavement

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-5, NIV)

The objectives of the Grief and Bereavement Ministry and Grief Counseling are as follows: To build up the body of Christ emotionally, socially, spiritually, physically, and psychologically;

  • To provide spiritual support, encouragement, and comfort to members of the Macedonia fellowship who have experienced loss through death or other reasons and are hurting, during these difficult times;

  • To provide a safe environment whereby our brothers and sisters in Christ can share their feelings and emotions, in confidence and without the fear of exposure whether on a one-to-one basis or in a group setting, with participants who are experiencing their emotional disruption;

  • To encourage and guide the dying non-member of Macedonia Baptist Church and/or their family in managing anticipatory grief while they complete end-of-life tasks;

  • To offer the bereaved family assistance as they provide Christian faith-based burial services for their loved ones either at the church, the funeral home, or a graveside and,

  • To assist in developing and maintaining a referral network for Macedonia members and non-members in processing complex and complicated grief. (These referrals can be internal to Macedonia’s Grief and Bereavement Ministry, the Grief Recovery Support Group held at Macedonia, or a referral to an external organization/agency.)

Comithier, Jr. Institute, named after Pastor Emeritus Comithier,  provides information, training, support, and advocacy for issues that affect the community in adverse and detrimental ways. These issues also lessen the chances of attainment of life-fulfilling outcomes for all people, especially those who do not have vital resources for empowerment.

It hosts multi-dimensional programs such as Racial Healing, Workforce Development, Financial Planning & Management, Health & Wellness Music & Arts Academy, Public Speaking, Aspiring Authors Book Signing, and many others.

J.O.Y. (Just Older Youth)

Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. - Isaiah 46:4

Men's Ministry

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Psalm 133:1 - KJV

All men of Macedonia are members of the Men's Ministry. The Ministry fosters a strong relationship amongst one another through regular meetings and various projects to promote the church's growth and the various communities in which we operate. From our annual events like our fantastic Men's Weekend celebration, our fishing trip to Cape Cod, our Men's Food Taste, and prayer breakfasts, the men are very active in doing the work of the church while enhancing their own spiritual and personal growth.

At the core, we try to instill in all men the biblical perspective on how to be Godly men, husbands, and mentors to young and adult men alike.   To meet our goals and objectives, we hold meetings, in-depth discussions, seminars, and workshops to help us become better men and better servants of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Psalm 150

Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe,
praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

John 4:22-24

22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

The Mission of the Music and Arts Ministry is to lead the congregation in praise and worship of God by

serving the Lord with gladness, following the vision in a cohesive and coordinated manner; preparing the congregation to accept the preaching of the word by which souls are saved; ensuring the music is synchronized with the values of the church, and address the needs of the total person; selecting diverse sacred music; and participating in community events such as community choirs and civic and cultural Events.
